After 15 + years in the industry, working for small, family run businesses on Long Beach Island- Sammy Jo was ready to start an endeavor of her own. 

Late nights and long summers behind the bar in Beach Haven allowed her to save money and travel in the off-seasons, searching for warmer weather, waves and inspiration for her future coffee shop. 

In 2023 she independently opened Guapo’s Coffee House. Named after her dog that she found outside a beach side cafe.. somewhere in Costa Rica. 

Guapo’s focuses on those things most important to her-  locally sourced ingredients, organic options and of course, community. Guapo’s has quickly become a favorite spot for locals and tourists alike. A place where caffeine, ideas and talk of the waves flow freely.
